Matina Marki Tillman in London’s International Original Print Exhibition

Artist member Matina Marki Tillman has a recent print selected for inclusion in the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers 2023 “International Original Print Exhibition,” an open international juried competition. The show will run from September 21 st to October 1 st at London’s Bankside Gallery. The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE),established in 1880, has a rich history showcasing the forefront of contemporaryprintmaking in the United Kingdom.

Fools’ Way is a solar plate etching representative of Tillman’s new Humanograph series. “Humanography: Eidola and the Glorious City” unfolds as two parallel world coexisting through dialogue between absence and presence. In Fools’ Way, “The Glorious City” has been left to exist as a stage of absences, barely carrying the shape of the lost creator.

Located in central London on the south bank of the Thames River, the Bankside Gallery has become a center of excellence for prints and water color, hosting both the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers.
