Acid-Free Intaglio Printmaking Methods [Adults] with Etai Rogers-Fett - Weekly - 8 Weeks

Weekly from April 11th - June 6 * No class May 9th *

7 - 9 PM

This eight-week class is an introduction to intaglio printmaking with a press, designed to familiarize students with a broad spectrum of techniques and materials for intaglio printmaking without acid or ferric chloride. Each class session will include a step by step instructor demo, relevant examples from historical and contemporary print artists, and time for students to develop their own work in a supported environment. Intaglio methods covered will include drypoint, silk aquatint, and collagraph. Students will have the opportunity to try out a variety of tools for mark making and building up tonality on zinc and acrylic plates, and gain experience in inking an intaglio plate and pulling prints. Beginners are welcome - no prior experience necessary!

At the end of the class an exhibition with the students ‘artwork will be held at the Book Hill Georgetown library.
