Jane Mann Fine Art Photography & Digital Imaging
Photography has always been a magical medium – turning light into substance.
As a fine art photographer, I have always strived to find the magic in the ordinary details of everyday life by selectively highlighting their beauty, their distinctiveness, or their irony. Now the development of digital media and its processes has opened another magical world. I no longer need to be only a photographer of what is actually before me. I am now free to recreate any and every image I’ve captured into whatever it suggests to me and to encourage the viewer to participate in the new perspective. For example, by combining various photos, bolts of silk and hand-painted scarves become a journey to the fabled Silk Road. What joy is now at my fingertips!
