Winter Salon

Seeing Things in a New Light

Opening Reception: Sunday, December 7th, 2:00 - 4:00 pm

It is the life of the crystal,
the architect of the flake,
the fire of the frost,
the soul of the sunbeam.
This crisp winter air is full of it.
— John Burroughs

The dark winter sky is lit by diamond-like stars. In the stillness of the season, we sense that we are spinning in space rapidly. The weather grows colder, we move inside by the fire with a sense of meditation and quiet thoughts. Gone are the riotous days of summer, and golden autumn. Then, as we inch toward December 21st, the days will once again grow longer leading us to the rebirth of spring. But, for now, we enter that magical time and space of winter.

The artists at Washington Printmakers Gallery have created this aura for you with an exhibition of original prints and photographs. Come and feel the aura of the new season and celebrate it with us.
