Learn Stitch Book Binding Techniques, this class will cover the fundamentals of book making. Focusing on a creative artistic approach to making books/ journals. We will explore a variety of papers and learn the proper folding, crease and paste techniques. Decorative stitching techniques will be introduced for the book spin detail.
Class Syllabus:
Day 1 - 3hrs with a Break
Pros and Cons of different papers that can be used for bookmaking.
Paperfolding, cutting techniques and demonstrating tools used.
Designing/selecting papers and threads for a 7" x 5" or 12"x12" book/ journal. Demonstrate cutting and pasting papers to the book covers.
Day 2 - 3hrs with a Break
Review and demonstrate a variety of stitching techniques.
Folding and punching signature pages.
Assemble the book/journals.
Stitching book together.
Celebrate!! Completion of a book.

About Adele
Adele Ross is a graduate of Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. She is an accomplished Printmaker that started her printing journey at Montgomery College, Maryland. Her book making interest has evolved from her printing which she feels is a natural progression from her press.
