Suzanne Bartlett: Celebrating Year One at WPG … and art included in Mixed at Lancaster Art Vault!

Washington Printmakers Gallery is thrilled to mark Suzanne Bartlett’s first anniversary as a member of our diverse group! Over the past year, Bartlett’s richly layered work has added depth and texture to our monthly member exhibitions, blending traditional printmaking with mixed media to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.

Her solo show Forest Women, explored feminine archetypes through woodland symbolism, and in September, her striking collagraph Idol Women was a show stopper at the Then & Now 40th Anniversary exhibition – demonstrating Bartlett’s ongoing exploration of feminine identity through symbolic layering and tactile materials.

This month Bartlett’s work is reaching new audiences! She’s been selected as featured artist in MIXED, a dynamic group exhibition at the Lancaster Art Vault  running through 29 November, 2025. The exhibition celebrates artists who blur boundaries between media, and Bartlett’s textile-based paintings and prints are a perfect fit. Her materials—natural fiber fabrics, vintage lace, and antique pattern tissue—evoke memory, labor, and beauty, reimagined through intaglio and relief techniques. In addition, the Franklin Art Gallery, 535 Lancaster Ave, Frazer, PA is currently exhibiting works from the Forest Women Series

At WPG, Bartlett exhibits regularly and exemplifies our “big tent” philosophy: our members are not just printmakers. We welcome artists working across media—hand-pulled prints, digital, photography, book arts, sculpture, and mixed media.
