Clare Winslow
Clare Winslow is a Maryland-based printmaker whose work explores the intersection of abstraction, process, and memory. She earned a degree in Fine Arts from The Catholic University of America and studied printmaking at the Corcoran College of Art. Her background in figure drawing and painting informs the gestural and layered qualities of her prints. Her practice centers on screen-printing, often incorporating nontraditional materials such as polypropylene and wood, as well as experimental techniques like ribbon exposures, water disruptions, and overprinting without registration. Winslow has exhibited widely in the Washington, DC region and beyond, including solo and group exhibitions at nonprofit art spaces, community galleries, and academic venues.
She is a four-time recipient of the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County’s Artists & Scholars Project Grant (2016, 2019, 2022, 2025) and has completed residencies at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and in Orquevaux, France. She works at her studio in Kensington.
