William Demaria
Artist Statement
William Demaria seeks to express ideas and emotions he experiences in the landscape but struggles to explain with words. In his eyes, the landscape is a diverse and living subject that simultaneously reflects greater lessons about humanity and preserves memories of thousands of years of history. Inspired by this dual nature, Demaria attempts to create artwork that combines historic and contemporary printmaking techniques and makes artwork that conveys emotions and conceptual ideas through the processes in which his artwork is made.
